Summer Time in Beach Haven

Aunt Hazel and Grandmom Florence - with me (I think)

The picture is dated August 3, 1967. There was a swimming/bathing beach at the end of Taylor Avenue on the bay which is where this picture was taken. The red-roofed building in the background was changing/bathroom facility. Grandmom Florence was a childhood friend of my paternal grandmother - they knew each other since the fourth grade. Hazel was Florence's best friend.

The bay beach has been greatly reduced in size and is now a toddler beach for family bathing. The red-roofed building was torn down and the area paved over to make a playground and some basketball courts.

Hey Grandmom! It's the Ice Cream MAN!!!

We usually only went to the bay beach when the tide was up and ocean was really rough or the ocean water was too cold. Luckily for us, the ice cream man went to both beaches!

Undated picture of the Sandpiper III

The picture is probably from between 1974-1984, I think in the later part of that time period because it has the boat has the "new engines" on it. The Fish Factory would be in the far distance off the left edge of this picure.
