Somehow, I don't think they are singing Eddie Money's "I love a Rainy Night". In fact, the one that is heavily leaning is probably saying "Jefe! por favor la huelga intermitente alrededor de las curvas, allí sea ningunos cinturones de seguridad traseros aquí!"**

Trail Marker Sign in Conshohocken, PA
I can understand how low bidder firms employing non-English speaking workers might have trouble with spelling Conshohoken and Schuylkill, but I was amazed to see this sign and its spelling of Philadelphia. I guess that rainy Monday morning - at the sign factory was not the best of days for someone...
Footnote: Recently this sign has been removed after being in place for months and months.

LOL at the misspelling. That's one of the easier words to spell too. I mean I understand if they misspelled Ponchatoulas, Pontchartrain or even Tchoupitoulas, but Philadelphia?? *shakes head*

Oh no worries there iggy! Im sure there are other photojournalists out there too so I cant expect to have mine printed all the time. :D
I take them simply to make people smile... so dont feel the need to use them all. The dash in the picture makes it painfully obvious that I did indeed take the shot but it's the when I did that's gotten fuzzy on me (maybe I've been taking too many of them).
I see a Shoney's sign in the background of the OCHA pic. Karen was bound and determined we would go to one on our trip to Alabama, so we did. We ate breakfast at one in Tennessee before we headed out the second day. I wasn't impressed.
I hope the arrow was pointed in the correct direction to that city.
Chicago - yes, I meant Eddie Rabbitt who sang the song in 1980 (and is probably still singing it somewhere - maybe in Branson). I guess 28 years of rainy nights have rusted my brain.
Alice Kay - the sign did indeed point the right way - it was placed where it was totally umm.. whats the word I want, superflurous? They could remove over half the signs and no one would care.
Styxie, the pictures of big green boxy on the semi-tractor trailer is mind boggling. :) I want the story to go with them to be equally mind boggling.
Yeah...I found that compelling as well. Wasnt expecting such a huge unidentified item during our travels.
