LTS - Locate the Scene

My parents are "way" out of town today and across the pond visiting this engineering marvel. I thought this would be a good inaugural "locate the scene" picture(s).

Tori, I'm going to try my best here. The scene shows a red narrow boat in a trough of water high above a small lake. The trough is held up by concrete trestles that look sort of like a tennis racquet. The trough ends suddenly high in the air over what looks like a huge spiral pinwheel. at one end of the small lake there is what appears to be a canal lock.

Upon further review (shoulda clicked on it to see it better before posting that last comment....LOL) it looks like some kind of sight-seeing boat ride thing. But why? And what are they seeing?

The Falkirk Wheel - Falkirk, Scotland - This is a very remarkable canal lift lock, raising and lowering canal boats to the level they need to be at in order to progress.
