There She Is, Miss America!

Recently, I asked Queenie Jeannie of Jeannie's Happy World to make some of her fabulous custom-made cards for a couple friends of mine that have been feeling under the weather. Soon, Queenie sent me an e-mail saying she had dropped them into the mail and I would be getting them in a day or two.

A couple days later, I got home from work and saw a big white box wedged between the screen door and my front door. I got out of my car thinking, "I'm expecting something from Queenie but she wouldn't need a box for a couple cards. I wonder what this is?"

Imagine my confusion when I saw the box had a return label with Bella's smiling face on it. I opened the box and found it full of white styrofoam peanuts - and baffled, I just couldn't imagine why a couple cards would need all that protection. I ran my fingers through the peanuts and found a couple simply amazing cards.

Queenie Jeannie created some real works of art - in fact, I didn't want to sign the actual cards and mess them up so I signed a "post-it" and put that in the cards before mailing them! Then I dug further into the styrofoam packing peanuts and found a stack of orange cones!


Christmas came early this year! I later learned that Bella really, really wanted these cones - but was gracious enough to let the Queen send them to me. Thank you Bella! And thank you Queenie Jeannie! They are my favorite color.

Now what to do with these cones first?

I do suspect you will be seeing more of them in the future. They are so pretty. So pretty in fact, they should be in a beauty pageant! So without further ado, let me introduce you to the finalists of the first annual Miss America Conehead pageant selected by none other than our judge, Little Iggy!

Little Iggy: Remember, our contestants were judged on talent, interview, evening wear and swimsuit. Not one contestant scored any higher than another in the evening wear and swimsuit categories as they all have identical - oh-so-lovely, conical figures...


From the fifty (plus) states of America! Our finalists are Miss Texas! Miss New York! Miss Illinois! Miss Georgia! Miss Louisanna! and Miss Confusion!


Miss Confusion hails from our biggest state! Here is how her interview went!

Little Iggy: What one thing would you wish for more than any other?

Miss Confusion: Oh! easy pea-sy! Literally! World Peas! You know, the yummy little green round things that come with the bigger round white onion-ey things? A world full of peas would be sooooo wonderful! I mean, like, brussel sprouts, ick!! Oh, and I'd like to say hello to my plastic surgeon back home [turns around 360 on one of her corner toes], See Doc! No unsightly seams! I'm so happy I could just cry!

Little Iggy: Miss Texas wished for a world beating vegetarian chili recipe. Miss New York wished for nicer bathrooms and cushioned seats in brand new Yankee Stadium ball park for "all the little peoples". Miss Louisianna wished she had paid more attention back in school - especially in spelling class - she hates having extra 'n's. Miss Georgia wished for a sugar-free ice cream recipe for diabetics that tasted just like the real thing. And finally, Miss Illinois wished that embarrassment of the state's Governor and US Senator would "just go away, like, already."


And the winner is...Miss Georgia!
