While walking around the 'hood, I spotted an old car, which was no great feat of observation, really, given its size, gleaming chrome and dazzling broad whitewall tires. This car is a jet black Plymouth Cambridge, a four door sedan that was manufactured from 1951-1953. It represented Plymouth's medium sized model in its lineup. I can't imagine what the "big" model looked like.
Due to the Korean Conflict (War), the 1952 retained the 1951 design, so, although there are about twenty minor differences between the 1951 and 1952 model year cars, they appear nearly identical and nearly impossible to tell apart. This car is definitely either a 1951 or a 1952 and has a blue book value of around $5000!
You may have spotted the frog catching a bug on the banner in the background - the banner reads, "Welcome to Our Pad". I assume R. E. W. Senior or Junior lives at this "pad". Who is R. E. W. Senior? Glad you asked! Check out the license plate.
The Cambridge replaced the Deluxe which brings us to the only reason I took much interest in it while walking by... This car is the immediate sucecessor of, and is very similar to, the one I wrote about in April 28th 2008 trying to identify the ruins of the car I saw in the 100-acre woods which started this whole chain of events.

Great looking car. We saw an older car like this parked in the Lowe's parking lot on Sunday. It was painted a pale yellow. I wanted to get a pic of it, but the guy who owned it was talking to another guy and they were standing right there beside it, and....well....being who I am, I didn't take the pic.
wow my dad had a car JUST like this one..I got pics of it somewhere!!! He traded it in in 1960 for a Catalina!
Well AK I'm sure the man wouldn't of minded at all..I'd of just asked, being who I am LOL
any car from 1959 to 2008 are butt ugly..i like old cars..i learned how to parallel park in a 1959 bonneville..it still had the clear plastic cover on the seats...i can parallel a semi truck thanks to that car..
My brother, Tom, had a 1952 Chevy in the 1960's. I taught myself to drive a stick shift in that car. Tom had taught me the basics of what to do but I had never gone solo until one day my sis called from work sick. Someone HAD to come get her NOW. Well I was the only someone around and the 1952 Chevy was the only car around. So, I got in, bucked all the way up the street and finally got things going smoothly. I did pretty good until I had to stop on a hill. Rutro. Well, I rolled down my window, waved everyone around me - backed down the hill and got a run at it, lol. After that I made Tom teach me how to really drive a stick shift!
Cool car! There's always a method to your madness, eh?
What a gorgeous car. I missed this entry when I was in earlier as I was so distracted with all the squirrelly goings ons.
Jebus, I love old cars, but then again I love old anything LOL....
