Your get well wishes must have worked. The good news is the cast came off yesterday - however, the bad news is the PT also started yesterday.
I thought PT meant physical therapy but noooooooooooooooooo...

All I could say during the 'session' was "Oh! sweet mother of god..." over and over.
I spent the rest of the day eyeing the pill bottle and wondering how many pain pills I could consume. Fortunately, in a way, I was too spaced out and too sore to even try to reach for them. I'm convinced PT really means punishing torture.
I wonder which of the devices below the "therapist" will select next?

Seriously, I exaggerate (only) somewhat - the doctor thinks things look "as good as can be expected**" and removed the immobilizing cast - the situation is complicated slightly as there was some reconstruction of some shoulder bones that they want immobile but they can't let the muscles and tendons scar up and have to get them moving - so there was a trade off. I'm supposed to wear this sling thing to keep my upper arm still unless I'm doing the sadomasochistic self-torture, err... PT. Heck, who knows? I might even figure out how to get this sling on and off by myself in a couple months or so.
Furthermore, I'm not supposed to drive for a couple weeks or more - I wonder how long this "lives alone and isn't going to beg for rides" guy is going to let that last.
** For some reason I didn't find this assessment all that reassuring.

you do what the therapist tells you to get that shoulder back to 100%. I know it hurts but soon it will all be okay *hugs*
Good luck with the PT. I know exactly what you mean about the torture part. Been there, done that. I hope everything heals the way it should so you can be up and at 'em...and driving soon. (but not before you should) *hugs*
Glad to see you back...... yep Physio is the pits lol Im at the hospital for physio mon and fri next week, I told them I cant do wed LOL.... I lied lmfao....

I have known for a while that the "T" in "PT" doesn't stand for Therapy, but for Torture. Most times that's what it feels like. The good news is that over time, the torture becomes less painful, provided you do your exercises when you are supposed to.
I'm glad the cast came off and that your shoulder is improving. Hugs!
So glad to hear you are cast free!
PT is torture but we could say it is "good torture"...if there is such a thing. hee, hee
Seriously, you have to make your self do it, Iggy. You have many more places to go and lots of things to do!! So you have need strength in body, mind, and spirit!
Sending you healing energies,
~gypsy-heart
try a shot of whiskey and a bullet to bite on.
YEW! So glad the restaining device on your wing was removed. That had to be a relief. Yes, the "self-torture" is going to hurt, but in the long run it's supposed to make things better.
*adds iggy's name to the long list of PT people that I put good thoughts out for*
Am glad things seem to be going well even with the healthy torture treatments. Just think of the end results :-)
Bloody blokes, cant seem to type with on hand, its called mulitasking, trying to deal with the pain and blob LOL....
gawds sake...... dont make me come over there....

Hugs Iggy. I'm glad to 'see' you up and at 'em, even if it's semi up and at em. Best of luck with the torture. I hope the pain subsides and you're 100% soon.
Ditto, ditto, ditto, ditto, ditto, ditto, ditto.......
*huge hugz*
*hugs* Hope your healing up nicely and that the PT is over soon! *HUGS*
