Freaky Fridays

Well, I've been tagged by both Living the Wife of Riley and by her husband, My Side of the Story to list 6 quirks or weird things about me and to tell you the truth I was hard(ly) pressed.

You might question what is in the water in Chicago after reading their freaky quirks - in fact it might even help you understand why the Chicago River actually flows the wrong way...

After much protracted thinking, and yes, I hear the choruses of "Ut-oh", I got my list. You see, there is really nothing odd about me - In fact, I'm so boring that:

1) I enjoy photographing orange traffic cones. The highlight of my photographic "body of work" (I use that term very loosely) is having captured them having sex and spotting an orange cone punching out an orange striped barrel.

2) My absolutely most favorite song in the world is "God Bless My Underwear" song to the tune of "God Bless America".

God bless my underwear, my only pair.
Stand beside them, and guide them,
Through the rips, through the holes, through the tears.
From the washer, to the dryer, to the clothesline in the air.
God bless my underwear, my only pair.

I enjoy pretending I only have one pair of underwear and when I do my laundry, I remove the pair I have on and throw them in the washer. I then go through "pretend" agony as my only pair of underwear is being washed. I'm pretty sure its "pretend" agony anyway.

3) The item at the very top of my bucket list, the lengthy list of things I want to do before I die, is to take the ultimate photograph of a squirrel living in the wild. I've dedicated my life to doing this - and have had little-to-no luck yet.

4) I like to go to the local hardware store to watch the nails rust and to go downtown to watch the parking meters violate themselves. These trips are often the highlights of my week.

5) I really dislike watching the professional sports of Basketball, Baseball and Football on TV. I'd much rather watch a Public Television special on how foot fungus is treated in third world countries.

6) SpongeBob SquarePants is my (not-so) secret role model. I can think of nothing more fun than catching jelly fish in a butterfly net unless its catching three-eyed fish down in the river by the local nuke plant.

So.. I live a life of quiet desperation - buried deep in a rut of dullness.

Now, I'm supposed to tag a bunch of others, but I won't... I know all of you, except for those of you living really near to Chicago (say within 12,501 miles), are perfectly normal, sane, level-headed people. But if you wanna do this - go for it! After all, your list couldn't possibly be more boring than this one.

Sure...pretend agony, LOL

You should make it not-so-quite life of desperation...It helps, believe me!

I'm pretty sure crazy and chemically imbalanced people live everywhere.

What's your definition of the ultimate photograph of a squirrel living in the wild?

I took some pictures of squirrels that I think are okay, maybe not National Geographic worty though.

Sorry, but the "Deleted Comment" was from me. I was signed on under the wife's name... God FORBID! LOL!

But a big LMAO to this post!

And personally, I think it's the green dye they put in the Chicago River on St. Patty's Day that makes us they way we are! LOL!

Later Tater.

Do you know you can wear your underwear for at least 4 days.... normal way, back to front, inside out and inside and back to front..

I thought of you today, whilst in the village newsagents this morning I picked up a copy of one of our free local magazines called The Solent, cos on the front cover is a beautiful photo of a squirrel :)....

It will soon be winging its way to you :)

Judging by your list.... I think your little break might of been a break in a lunatic asylum :)

*snotty hugs*

Welcome back! (not that you were back a while ago or anything...)
Very very weird. You should defintiely stop "pretending" it's not odd to wear no underwear voluntarily!
On the other hand, we're all rather crazy. Probably even more so than those mad Chicago-ians!
Anyway, I guess it wouldn't be an interesting blog post if you talked about eating tic tacs or turning on the light. High five!

Scary thing is... .it all sounds perfectly normal to me.

We actually had a travel agent tell a group that he could tour Europe with only 2 pair of underwear. One to wear and one to wash out each night. We got a lot of mileage out of that one... Now I'm beginning to wonder.

You make me smile everytime you post. Scan whatever Marmite wings your way and post about it. It's bound to be good :)

Haha, great song. And you're not boring at all. You're helping construct the craziest story I've ever read on my blog!

I said it before and I'll say it again, you are a few fries short of a happy meal! But that's why we love you!

And here I thought your favorite song was Henry the 8th!

I personally have never had any of the water from the Chicago River, died green or normal green. Treated Lake Michigan water, almost everyone here gets their water from either there or a well.

I think you've taken some amazing pictures of those aliens, that no one else would dare to try. One day, you'll be famous for them!

OMG, you mean all this time you've been pretending about only having one pair of underwear??????

All in all, your life is lived more fully than you realize. HUGS

I think I did this a while back. But I'll check, and if I haven't then I'll do it.

Great list Iggy.
