Here are the very simple instructions:

1) Go to Wordle.net to create your Wordle. It's lots of fun. You can tweak the colors, fonts and such.
2) Post it on your blog with a link to Last Shreds Of Sanity.
3) Once that's done, go back to Last Shreds Of Sanity and sign the Mr Linky that she has up. Dont forget to leave a comment on the sites you visit.

Here's my wordle that I created using my Freaky Fridays entry.

I like how that "Underwear" song kind of stands out. :)

Locate the Scene

Its been awhile since I done a "locate the scene."

The rules:

The first person to comment with the correct location gets a virtual pat on the back. Sorry, I'm not real big on prizes. In this case, I don't want to know where this building is, but rather the name and location of the building. I'll post the answer tomorrow evening.

described below

A very ornate brick clock tower, round in shape with brown/tan detailing around the windows and floors. The building is about 5 stories high and is in a very urban setting as the yellow taxis and the crowds of people, some of which are obviously tourist and sightseers.

The street lights, while electric, are also very ornate and are typical for this neighborhood.

To be fair to all - if you live or work in this city, please don't comment with the answer but feel free to leave hints! Enjoy!

:)

The winners are Alice Kay, Karla, Marmite Toasty, and Punkn!

Alice Kay sent me this really neat link to a website detailing a walk around New York City called "new york architecture walks - Greenwich Village" The LTS building is tour stop #11.

I was in New York City this past Friday walking down the Avenue of Americas (6th Avenue) having walked through the Garment district, past the Flatiron building, and Gramercy districts on my way to Soho. A nice map of the neighborhoods can be found here.

Marmite Toasty's answer could have been used by the folks at Wikipedia. More information on this unique and interesting building (and a better picture than mine) can be found there.

Thanks for playing! I will try to post more New York City pictures from my walk if anyone wants to see them.

I've heard of Catdogs...

...and used to watch the cartoon on TV on occassion. It was just odd enough to catch my interest.

a picture of the catdog from the cartoon

One fine day with a woof and a purr,
A baby was born and it caused a little stir,
No blue buzzard, no three-eyed frog,
Just a feline/canine, little CatDog,
CatDog! CatDog! Alone in the world is the little CatDog!

A lunatic dog and a frustrated cat,
Opposite this and opposite that,
An internal struggle for two-in-one brothers,
Scratching and biting and loving each other,
CatDog! CatDog! Nothing in the world like the little CatDog!
CatDog! CatDog! Nothing in the world like the little CatDog!

Over the river and through the muck,
Hot on the trail of the garbage truck,
Friends to the end through good and bad weather,
But life is complicated when you're always together,
CatDog! CatDog! Nothing in the world like the little CatDog!

Out on the road or back in town,
All kinda critters putting CatDog down,
Gotta rise above it, gotta try to get along,
Gotta walk together, gotta sing this song,
CatDog! CatDog! Alone in the world is the little CatDog!
CatDog! CatDog! Alone in the world is the little CatDog!
CatDog! CatDog! Alone in the world is the little CatDog!

a car license plate that says cow dog

...But Cowdogs? Please spare me.

One fine day with a woof and a moo,
A baby was born and it caused a stinking pooh, (smallish ado?)
No blue buzzard, no three-eyed frog,
Just a Bovine/canine, little CowDog,
CowDog! CowDog! Alone in the world is the little CowDog!

Ugh... I hate myself. I really don't want to talk about it.

Freaky Fridays

Well, I've been tagged by both Living the Wife of Riley and by her husband, My Side of the Story to list 6 quirks or weird things about me and to tell you the truth I was hard(ly) pressed.

You might question what is in the water in Chicago after reading their freaky quirks - in fact it might even help you understand why the Chicago River actually flows the wrong way...

After much protracted thinking, and yes, I hear the choruses of "Ut-oh", I got my list. You see, there is really nothing odd about me - In fact, I'm so boring that:

1) I enjoy photographing orange traffic cones. The highlight of my photographic "body of work" (I use that term very loosely) is having captured them having sex and spotting an orange cone punching out an orange striped barrel.

2) My absolutely most favorite song in the world is "God Bless My Underwear" song to the tune of "God Bless America".

God bless my underwear, my only pair.
Stand beside them, and guide them,
Through the rips, through the holes, through the tears.
From the washer, to the dryer, to the clothesline in the air.
God bless my underwear, my only pair.

I enjoy pretending I only have one pair of underwear and when I do my laundry, I remove the pair I have on and throw them in the washer. I then go through "pretend" agony as my only pair of underwear is being washed. I'm pretty sure its "pretend" agony anyway.

3) The item at the very top of my bucket list, the lengthy list of things I want to do before I die, is to take the ultimate photograph of a squirrel living in the wild. I've dedicated my life to doing this - and have had little-to-no luck yet.

4) I like to go to the local hardware store to watch the nails rust and to go downtown to watch the parking meters violate themselves. These trips are often the highlights of my week.

5) I really dislike watching the professional sports of Basketball, Baseball and Football on TV. I'd much rather watch a Public Television special on how foot fungus is treated in third world countries.

6) SpongeBob SquarePants is my (not-so) secret role model. I can think of nothing more fun than catching jelly fish in a butterfly net unless its catching three-eyed fish down in the river by the local nuke plant.

So.. I live a life of quiet desperation - buried deep in a rut of dullness.

Now, I'm supposed to tag a bunch of others, but I won't... I know all of you, except for those of you living really near to Chicago (say within 12,501 miles), are perfectly normal, sane, level-headed people. But if you wanna do this - go for it! After all, your list couldn't possibly be more boring than this one.
