Now that the office has been moved to the downstairs floor of my house, it seemed neccessary to do some outside "yard work" to spruce things up for when clients came over.
The stucco is rather ... dingy.
A fresh coat of paint goes a long way.
The paver edging was in need of relaying and straightening. Rough on the tender "keyboarder's hands"!
I think the results were worth the couple hours in the hot sun.
The other end of the house was a jungle of weeds and rotted landscaping ties. I pulled out all the rot first and then weeded out the jungle.

The downspout was leaking and water was getting on the porch and into the garage.
More dingy stucco - the dirt is from the stump grinder that removed an old stump that was under the drain pipe here.
A new drain pipe to move the rain water away from the house. I got a pile of dirt to do some back filling - but it was 92 degrees F and equally humid - so that waits until a day comes that I won't get heat stroke moving dirt!
A gallon of white stucco paint makes such an improvement!

The gutter had a leak right over the steps from the driveway to the front door - when the leaked water froze over the steps were "tricky" - we don't need any clients falling on the steps here! I never rode a bucket before - and now I never want to do that again!
I decided to dig a trench to help the drainage around the back porch - hot and humid meant taking it slow.
Repairs to the down spouting after the tree stump was removed. Some more white stucco painting when on...
The day lilies never bloomed before - they were buried in the jungle of weeds.
The new trench with gravel fill. We had a massive thunderstorm last night, and the gravel remained bone dry as did the porch!
I plan to paint the woodwork soon.
There is a lot more to do, but its coming along.

You have been busy! Home improvement is certainly hard work, but the end result is so satisfying. Working from home beats my 3-minute commute!
OMGosh! Everything you've done so far has made it look 100% better. Just painting made a huge difference. Goodness! Who knew, eh? It is looking more and more inviting to new customers. Congrats! That's a lot of hard work--but so worth it. Looks great! :)

The hard work will be worth it. Just try not to over-do it, or stay out in the sun too long.
Ah, Iggy, you have really had a workout, getting your family's place in order, then your office move, then your "new" office, too. Phew! How did you even manage to find the time to preserve those "keyboarder's hands"?
Daylilies are my fav. They look quite perky against that freshly-painted background. Hopefully, they'll resurrect nicely after all the work you've done. I've always liked the fact that they spread naturally (well, at least the original, non-fancy-hybrid types do).
Everything looks great, Iggy!! I know its a lot of hard work, but definitely an improvement over the prior!! Having been through a major remodel recently, including landscaping, I can tell you by your efforts and your hard work, you sure saved a lot of money rather than having someone come to do the work. I think you deserve a day off with pay (or a few days off with pay) for your efforts :)

Hi! You have been so busy! I really love the hard work you put in to make your home and office look so polished and professional! Love those day lilies. Hardy flowers aren't they hiding from you?! It is always wonderful to see you about at the blog and always know your compliments and kind words are good for this soul! I am waiting for an old friend to stop by with her young grandson. She lost her husband last summer and we have been out of touch. Our children grew up together so I ran to the store and made fresh coffee and tea for my guests. I also bought a package of Lofthouse Patriotic cookies. Those were so good when I was younger. But I tried one and the sweetness went right to my head- headache style! Have a blessed and beautiful 4th of July. We are having a barbeque tomorrow night for Hannah's 24th birthday. Say a prayer, she and Bret drove back to the Royal Gorge to take a helicopter tour. We have windy skies today. I hope it is calmer there. Bret has never flown and before we all head to Vegas in August for our phamily trip Hannah is planning to get him up in the friendly skies! I have been wondering where you moved the office too. I take a second glance whenever I drive by the new Elder Law sign on Main Street.
