Me (Thinking): "I don't want to know what it DID look like..."
Computer prognosis: Dead. About a half pound of dirt came out of the case. A new one has been ordered to replace a 7 year old computer used daily for my dad's office work. It will have Windows 8 on it. This should be interesting when old Dad meets new Windows.

half a pound of dirt?! Yikes. I don't want to know what the inside of my CPU looks like. My keyboard is bad enough :)

I've got much sympathy for your dad right now. I don't think I'm ready to meet the new Windows, either :(
Somehow...I just feel there will be a follow up to this story...after all, why suck that much dirt out of a piece of "trash"?

Windows 8 might just make him give up completely on computers forever, lol.
Were you able to salvage anything from the computer at all? Or did you take it to a recycler?

I bet my computer is looking pretty much like that again. (you know how badly it looked the last time i took it apart. lol) It's been making "noises" and acting like it was last year, so one of these days, I need to pull it out and clean it again. It wouldn't be so difficult to do if it wasn't in such a tight spot, but it's super hard to get to and reach where it's located. (you know what i mean...you've been here. lol)

Forgot to say.....your poor dad. Windows 8 would freak me out! You're a good teacher, tho, so he should figure it out in no time flat. ;)
Oh my! Windows 8.... I've got it, accustomed too it, a few things still annoy me, but most times I am okay with it! Good Luck!
Yikes!! I probably have about 10 pounds in mine, lol!! I hate learning new Windows; your poor Dad!
