I'm supposed to tell you 7 random facts about myself, tag people and pass the award on to 5 other bloggers. 7 facts. Random facts.
1. I wear a digital pedometer everyday and feel naked without it. I'll even wear it latched to my underwear if that is all I have on. I log my steps each day and have walked halfway around the world "in a virtual way" since I started doing this.
2. I often sleep on the sofa - but I've slowly been sleeping on the bed more often. Someday, perhaps, I'll sleep under the covers.
3. I probably have one of the world's largest collections of orange traffic safety cones. Soon I'll have to figure out how to put them in my will. I wonder who has (and where) the largest collection? Would anyone want to go there to see it (with or without me)?
4. I love dogs of all sorts and sizes. Cats* do next to nothing for me. I've still not gotten over having to put my companion Gypsy (pictured) down when I learned she had stomach cancer on Thanksgiving Day more than a few years ago now. She is badly missed.
*Some "cats," such as Karma, Mooch and Bailey, are treated in my mind as "honorary dogs" even if they won't like hearing that.
5. On my Bucket List is to capture the perfect wild squirrel picture. I want a shot good enough for National Geographic. That's probably not gonna happen.
6. I drive a Subaru station wagon - and still can't believe I drive a station wagon. I've become my father.
7. I still write "DOS" programs call "batch files" on occassion. In fact, today I cam working on a program that will "roll up" about 50 inventory database files into one "package" that will be sent over the Internet for backup and collaborative sharing purposes at remote offices. The program will be entirely written in DOS commands.

How did you start collecting traffic cones? There must be a story there.
My husband wears a pedometer too. He used to wear it to work more when he was on his feet all day but now he's not so much so he'll wear it for walks or on vacation.
I think the wild squirrel picture is a doable thing. Keep it on your list.

DOS! I remember that!! I had just become good at managing DOS until Windows came. Now I can remember nothing. As a matter of fact, I was looking for a file just yesterday and went into the DOS area of the computer... but couldn't figure out what to do then! I wrote my very first school report when DOS was still the biggest part of a computer.

Have you ever visited The Run Around Ranch blog? It has a lot of squirrel and bird pictures on it. She's a good photographer. Her squirrels are mighty!

Hooray for your award! Hey..my DD and I would happily visit a cone museum. We look for them all the time now...and porta-potties. lol
Go to DC to capture that squirrel pic. Went to see the museums and the Wash. monument long ago and the little critters almost got in my lap. P.S. We had a wild squirrel become tame in our yard long ago. She came when called. Ate from our hands. Sweet.

Maybe the squirrel photo project wont be as successful as you hope, but then again, maybe it will. What matters is whether you're enjoying trying to get that perfect shot! :)

Honestly, when we lived in Montana, I would have loved a Subaru.
Your cone collection is definitely the best (and only) cone collection I have ever seen :) But I do love those orange cones these days!

Thank you for the honor Iggy! For awhile there awards flew around the internet like candy on Halloween. But once the newness wore off, they have kind of gone away. So it is nice to get one. Especially to get one from you! Bailey says she appreciates it too. She's been a bit smug about it, lording it over Whiskey that she was included instead of him.
I knew just enough about DOS to be dangerous. I believe I worked my buns off in college to eek out a B. My mind isn't logical enough for programmming!
I had to grin when I saw that you've ventured away from the couch. Go, go, go, go to bed!!!! Yea you!

If you wanna see a great squirrel picture check out KTXS site. Someone got a squirrel lying flat on concrete on a 100 degree day. It was something to see!!

Congrats on slowly moving to the bed. I usually start out there but end up on the couch at some point during the night/morning.
I would definitely go with you to see the world's largest cone collection. I can't imagine seeing it without you.
I know you still miss Gypsy, but I also know there is another dog out there waiting for you to come and adopt him/her.
