This past weekend was the annual men of the family, big Flounder Fish expedition. Feeling funky or not, I was going!
As always, we go when the fishing season opens at the far-eastern end of Long Island, fish with Captain Bob Rocchetta of Rainbow Charters (Orient Point, Long Island) and stay at the Willow Hill Bed and Breakfast in Southhold.
With my dad being called Captain Bob also, things can get a little confusing. There is a picture of my dad and brother on the Rainbow Charter's photo gallery (6th from the bottom - last column).
The Bridgeport & Port Jefferson Steamboat Company took us from Bridgeport Connecticut to Port Jefferson, Long Island, New York.
Here you can see the ferry boat that took us over to Long Island, the USS Park City, steaming into port. This ferry can carry about 70 cars (and a couple buses at a time). The ferry we took back home, the PT Barnum, was bigger and newer and can carry 100 cars. I like both of these boats. :)

My younger brother holding up a couple nice sized (5-6 pound) Flounder. We caught 28 Flounders, 1 Bluefish, and 1 Sea Robin. We kept seven of the Flounder and the Bluefish (which we ate for breakfast the next morning).
A large Great Black-backed Sea Gull hovers in the air behind the boat with a youngster looking for a free handout. It would have tried to eat a whole flounder if offered one! :)
Between Greenport and the hoity-toity Hamptons, in the middle of Peconic Bay, lies the Shelter Island. The only way to get to this island is by boat or plane - and most people get there by ferry boat. From Greenport, you ride the North Ferry to Shelter Island, and then you drive across the island and ride the South Ferry to the Hamptons.

At the Willow Hill Bed and Breakfast, where we stayed a couple nights, a tree out on the front lawn just asked to be hugged.
So I did. I felt a little better.

I hope you get better soon! And that looks like a nice getaway. I've never been fishing before, but by the looks of those fish I'd probably get thrown into the water! Ginormous.

Being Irish I just adore leprechauns. Sounds like you had a wonderful family fishing trip. As a kid I used to go deep sea fishing all the time as the step-father was a fisherman. It was fun except for the time I got sea sick but it was really rough and choppy that day so I do have an excuse. Anyhow...

The big Flounder Fish expedition looks like a fun weekend. Loved the pictures. Those fish! They are huge! I'll bet they were really tasty. Those sea gull... nice picture there.

Thank you all for the well wishes. I'll keep you posted - the HMO doctor will "be able to see me" May 28th. Ugh.
If you are passing out, mightent you consider going to the Emergency Room? Scew the HMO doctor! (did I just say that?) I just don't want anything to happen to you...
I sure do hope you feel better soon. The passing out business worries me, too, and maybe Deanna is right...a trip to the ER. If it should happen again, I would certainly consider that an emergency and would get myself to an ER.
The fishing trip sounds like it was a fun trip for everyone. Nice to see families out and about like that. *hugs*
