But like Thomas Wolfe says, in his novel, You Can't Go Home Again, using the voice of the protagonist George Webber, "You can't go back home to your family, back home to your childhood, ... back home to a young man's dreams of glory and of fame ... back home to places in the country, back home to the old forms and systems of things which once seemed everlasting but which are changing all the time..."
This weekend, I got some pictures from Photojournalist Punkn and one of her pictures really made me sit back and ponder things. Somehow, the cresting rise of the hill, and the pleasant boyhood home that lies behind it, further obscured by a tree drapped in freshly-budded green tantalized me... I could almost hear the shouts of the schoolmates playing a game of baseball in the big vacant lot in the valley, looked upon by the cows slowly chewing the tasty cud of the seasons first green grass...
Country roads... take me home...
Surely there is an apple pie, fresh-made vanilla ice cream as well as a small stream to splash some smooth stones into over that hill...

I'm sure Mrs. Delores Pointyhead has some fresh gossip for her good friend Mrs. Elma Perkytop - she's made a point to meet her neighbor at the mailbox that bright, promising, spring day.
I can even hear "Oh, you'll never hear one of us repeating gossip.. So you better be sure and listen close the first time!" the ladies on Hee Haw used to sing on TV all those years ago...
But you can't go home again no matter how badly you yearn to...
